Facilitating Local Resilience Networks and Communications
The CRO works to build an ongoing network of resilience leaders across Colorado through peer exchanges. These exchanges aim to continue the conversations and momentum for those who have participated in CRO-led workshops such as Camp Resilience, as well as open the dialogue up to local government leaders and partners who are advancing resilience issues on the ground.
We are happy to support you and your community! Please contact us with any questions you may have.
Peer Exchanges
The Colorado Resiliency Office has led and facilitated “Peer Exchanges” to bring together Colorado communities recovering from disasters and taking proactive measures to build resilience. These virtual meetings and list-servs foster discussion and collaboration across Colorado. The success of these programs were first felt through a COVID Recovery Peer Exchange, then a 2020 Wildfire Recovery Peer Exchange that went on for four years, and finally through our Resiliency Roadmaps Program which focused on rural, regional networks.
The CRO now also facilitates an ongoing, online forum through the “Colorado Resilience Community of Practice” – a private LinkedIn Group that is open to practitioners and researchers that are advancing resilience or sustainability here in Colorado. This forum provides two-way communication and discussions on timely resilience topics that compliment our monthly CRO Newsletters.

Peer Exchange Supporting Colorado’s 2025 Wildfire Resiliency Code Implementation
The Division of Fire Prevention and Control (DFPC), in partnership with the CRO, are launching a Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code (CWRC) Implementation Peer Exchange. Governing bodies that are adopting or supporting the adoption of the recently released 2025 CWRC are invited to learn from each other and contribute to this peer-to-peer conversation. (NOTE: The meeting is not open to the general public; the Peer Exchange is for implementing agencies and partners only.)
Register to attend the Peer Exchange and receive peer exchange-related email updates:
- Register for July 16 from 2pm - 3pm: Introduction to the CWRC Implementation Peer Exchange. This meeting will provide a baseline of information about the CWRC, presented by DFPC. (NOTE: This will be the only recorded session and the recording will be available on the CRO Peer Exchange webpage).
- Register for the monthly Peer Exchange, beginning with:
August 6 from 2pm - 3pm - Kickoff Meeting on the topic of “Who is Implementing the WRC?” All “governing bodies” must adopt a code by April 1, 2026, that meets or exceeds the state standards set forth in the 2025 CWRC. Implementation and enforcement of that adopted code is determined by the governing bodies, which may include different entities and agreements. In this session, local jurisdictions will discuss the benefits and drawbacks of various approaches.
Future, monthly or more peer exchanges will be facilitated on additional topics as defined by the interests of those participating.
