November Resilience Conversation: Colorado Resiliency Framework (CRF) Progress Update

The Colorado Resiliency Framework (CRF) is a 5-year, multi-agency plan that helps the State of Colorado 1) proactively respond to future changes, 2) coordinate actions across agencies, and 3) advance economic, social, and environmental resilience for all Coloradans. The CRF is updated every five years to ensure that the State is staying proactive, keeping the actions relevant, and maintaining a long-term view.

There are many initiatives across Colorado as governments, non-profits, businesses, and communities successfully address current challenges and proactively prepare for future challenges. These initiatives weave together to steward and safeguard all of Colorado’s communities.

Today, we’ll share some inspiring resiliency stories from over the past five years that can help us better envision the resilient future Colorado is working towards and spark ideas for new projects within our community.

September Resiliency Conversation: Whole Community Recovery

"Whole community recovery" is a framework that recognizes that every group within a community (neighborhood groups, age groups, income groups) and sector (businesses, governments, nonprofits) has a unique context, which leads to each group experiencing a disaster differently.

August Resiliency Conversation: A Deep Dive into the Resiliency Criteria

There are many tools you can use to help your community address current and future challenges and opportunities. A key tool Colorado State agencies use is the ‘Resiliency Prioritization Criteria. These nine criteria help agencies apply core aspects of resilience to their initiatives, grant programs, and strategies. These criteria can also help communities advance several resiliency benefits with limited resources.

May Resiliency Conversation: Wildfire Awareness Month

Wildfire is a top hazard in Colorado, and May is Wildfire Awareness Month. This is a time we can collectively build awareness of risk and prepare ourselves and our communities for impacts of wildfire. October Resiliency Conversation: Nature-Based Solutions

Nature-based solutions recognize and leverage the ingenuity of nature to help the environment while simultaneously providing community benefits like lower cost than traditional infrastructure, creation of green jobs, increases to property value, improvements to public health, and reduced loss of life.
